Tithes and Offerings – Giving
In Scripture we see that giving is central to God’s heart: God so loves, that He gives (John 3:16). We believe in the pattern of tithes
(though not as a legalistic expression), offerings, giving to the poor, apostolic giving and a lifestyle of generosity.
At our church you won’t hear mini preaches every week about tithing but what you will find is a group of people walking
in sacrificial giving as the Spirit of God leads us.
Some people give on a Sunday in our church in the old fashioned way but many have opted to give electronically to our various accounts.

More Information (and account descriptions)
The General Operating account is where most of our weekly finances end up. This is the default offering account (if you’re not donating to a specific other account). Each week we calculate 10% of what comes into this account and transfer it to our General Giving Account. The day to day running of Living Hope Church is covered through this account.
Our Building Fund is for gifts that are earmarked specifically for our pursuit of a building. You can find more about our building plans here.
Giving – Philippines Account is for money that will be used specifically in the Philippines for the ministries to the poor that we support there. Living Hope Church supports 4 Compassion children in addition to the 75 or so supported by Living Hope members.
Giving – “The Poor” locally is where we put 10% of our general funds each week. From here, we give to needy people both locally and overseas. We do what we can for people in our own church and wider circles of connections, especially struggling families in and around Living Hope. You can give directly into this account also.
Corinthians 9:6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.” NIV
