Background info
We are on a challenging and exciting journey at Living Hope.
The past 5 years have seen us in 5 different locations for Sunday morning church.
Where we meet now is a medium term solution
The eldership team decided at a retreat in 2012, (after much searching, praying and thinking), that we should purchase our own space
and make-do where we are until we raise a 35% deposit on a $4-500,000 purchase price.
As prices have risen in recent years we have had to adjust this goal to a $650-800,000 building needing at least $250,000 deposit.
We have pre-approval from baptist Financial Services for a loan up to $600,000 and are ready to put a deposit on the right building.
The process has moved into an exciting stage. Our main obstacle now is the availability of warehouses in the Narellan area as
supply and demand has depleted our options- please pray with us for the right building- in God’s time.
We are taking this direction for at least the following reasons:
We believe the Lord is leading us this way
We are building for the future
It is good stewardship
(ALSO- we think renting secular venues in the future may become difficult for churches)
Our approach to this in a nutshell:
We have included and will include our church family in this process
We believe the process is more important than the end goal (how we do it)
We have a building fund that is slowly growing- click here for giving
We will have special offerings until we raise the $250,000 or so we need
We are, as a church, wary of manipulation and dodgy financial practice and will approach this whole process transparently and openly
Please pray with us – we need to look fundamentally to God for the provision while each member of
Living Hope asks the Lord what He may want them to contribute.
Corinthians 9:6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
9 As it is written:“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.” NIV
